hypothesesLike other salarians, Mordin is tall, lean, and distinctly alien. He's approximately 7'0'' but has a tendency to slouch, which gives the impression that he's shorter than he is. Part of his height is due to his head, which is elongated and topped with a pair of horns that curve inward and nearly touch—or this would be the case for normal salarians, but Mordin lost his right horn in combat and now there's just a rounded stump there in its place. Consequently, his face also bears a few scars. His skin is a mottled white and pale orange with distinct dark markings across his forehead. It's unknown if these are natural or have some deliberate significance. His facial features are fairly reminiscent of your stereotypical "grey" alien seen in popular culture: he has no nose, only a pair of nostrils; his mouth is wide and thin-lipped, containing predominantly herbivorous teeth and a green tongue (due to his green blood); his eyes are very large, oval in shape, with large horizontally-oriented black pupils ringed by smaller reddish irises.
His limbs and body appear similarly elongated by human standards, with a vulnerable concave chest and arms that become more muscular as they go past the elbow, culminating in thin three-fingered hands. Salarians are an amphibious species, and as such, their skin is smooth, hairless, and ostensibly highly permeable. If they're able to breathe through it as many Earth amphibians can, that might explain the relative lack of real estate in their chest cavity for fully developed lungs. His feet have a less pronounced heel than human feet due to having digitigrade legs (as opposed to plantigrade, like humans; walking on one's toes as opposed to one's soles, basically). Think the hooked shape of a dog's legs, for example. Like that. They do appear to have at least five toes, but they seem not to be as differentiated as a human's.
Now the stuff we're all interested in. Bioware is not terribly specific when it comes to the details of intimate salarian anatomy, so what follows here is going to be extrapolated from what we know from canon and what can reasonably be extrapolated from my way too in-depth research of amphibian sex.
